Individual peer tutoring is available at no charge for any student, and is limited to one hour per subject per week. Individual sessions allow students to work with a peer tutor privately without the distractions of a drop-in table or study group. Sessions may be held on a regular or as-needed basis.
What to expect during peer tutoring
If you experience difficulty in a course, you are encouraged to request tutoring. Once you have requested individual tutoring, a trained peer tutor will contact you to coordinate a weekly study time and determine a meeting place. If a change in the tutoring schedule is necessary, the peer tutor will contact you. (If you fail to arrive within 15 minutes of your appointment time, the tutor will leave.) At the end of a session, the tutor will address what work needs to be completed outside the session and discuss plans for the next meeting.
