Due to maintenance of our physical plant, ALL IT services will be unavailable starting 4 PM on FRIDAY, MAY 29, including BlackBoard, MyCayuga, and E-mail.

The full website and online Admissions application will also be unavailable during this time.

All IT services will be restored by 8 AM, Monday, June 1. IT will be working to bring services back online as quickly as possible. Status updates will be found at the College web page.

Current plans to upgrade to Windows 8 / Office 2013

Windows 8 and Office 2013 have been released, Cayuga IT will begin testing Windows 8 to determine what if any compatibility issues exist. Once testing has been completed and the product has met the "general campus upgrade scheme" requirements posted above Cayuga IT will begin deploying Windows 8 to client workstations. Microsoft Office 2013 has been tested, and determined it fits our upgrade scheme. We have started to deploy Office 2013 to all appropriate campus equipment.


Status as of the beginning of Fall classes, September, 2013:


  • Computer Labs:
    All upgraded to Windows 7/Office 2013
  • Classroom Instructor Stations:
    All upgraded to Windows 7/Office 2013
  • Faculty Offices:
    All upgraded to Windows 7/Office 2013
  • Administration and Staff offices:
    approximately 95% complete – each office will be contacted separately prior to upgrade
  • Library:
    All upgraded to Windows 7/Office 2013
  • CAS Public stations:
    All upgraded to Windows 7/Office 2013
  • CAS Testing Lab:
    All Upgraded to Windows 7



Windows 7 and Office 2010 training will be offered at various strategic times during the year. Employees wishing to receive additional training not on those dates should submit a request using the Employee Training link on the IT Services Webpage.
