- Apply to the College through the Admissions Office.
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Cayuga’s school code is 002861. If you are applying for the fall semester, submit your FAFSA anytime after January 1. If the Financial Aid Office receives your processed FAFSA by April 15 and all additional requirements are satisfied by April 30 you will be considered for additional scholarships, grants and work-study in addition to Pell, TAP and loans.
- To submit the FAFSA, you (or parents of a dependent student) will need a Personal Identification Number (PIN). Request your PIN online and use it as your electronic signature. You will receive a Student Aid Report, which you should review and keep for your records.
- If you are a New York State resident and you are enrolling as a full-time student, you may be eligible for state aid. You will be directed to the online Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) application at the end of the FAFSA. Complete the application. You will need to list at least one school in New York State. Cayuga's TAP code is 2005.
- If you did not complete a TAP application as part of your online FAFSA, wait until you receive your FAFSA acknowledgment, then apply for TAP directly. Cayuga’s TAP code is 2005.
- If you are a New York State resident and you are enrolling as a part-time student, you may be eligible for state aid. Apply for Aid for Part-Time Study (APTS) by July 1 for fall the fall semester, and by November 15 for the spring semester. Use the APTS Application. (Note: Downloadable Financial Aid forms are available on the College website. Deadlines are July 1 for fall semester enrollment and November 15 for spring semester enrollment. After those dates, applications are considered only if funds are available.
- Using the Cayuga ID assigned by the College, you can log in to your myCayuga account and:
- View award amounts and accept financial aid
- Check for any additional requirements you must complete before receiving financial aid
- See Accepting Terms and Conditions below
- You must reapply for financial aid each academic year. To do so, start with step 2 above.
Accepting Terms and Conditions
- Log into myCayuga with your Cayuga ID and Password.
- Click on the Financial Aid tab.
- In the Financial Aid Links area, click on the Award menu link.
- Click on the Award for Aid Year and then click proper Financial Aid year from the menu.
- From the tabs, select Terms and Conditions.
- Read the Terms and Conditions and then click I accept Terms and Conditions.
- Click the submit button (you have now with this action accepted Terms and Conditions).
- Click Accept Award which will allow you to individually accept each award offered to you.
- Once you have selected an action for each, click the submit button (you have now with this action accepted financial aid award offered to you for fall 2010)
