Two scholarships were for incoming freshmen who are finishing high school this year, and are children or grandchildren of a graduate of the college. This year’s recipients were Lauren D. Pacelli of Auburn and Stephanie L. Lavere of Hannibal.
Two scholarships went to students who will attend Cayuga full-time next year as returning sophomores. Amy K. Barrette and Jennifer J. Glowacki, both of Auburn, were this year’s winners.
Valerie J. Smart of Port Byron received the “nontraditional student” scholarship. This award goes to a full-time student other than a recent high school graduate who has attained 29 credit hours and seeks to upgrade skills or start a new career.
Robyn Infante of Auburn won this year’s “new start” scholarship, for a student resuming study at the college following job displacement.
The commencement awards, for graduating sophomores who have been accepted for transfer to a four-year college, went to Megan L. Noonan of Union Springs, Marc E. Paczkowski of Auburn, and Shawn P. Withrow of Moravia.
The scholarships and commencement awards are administered by the Cayuga County Community College Foundation. Private donations to the foundation have made it possible to award 83 scholarships and 61 graduation awards to Cayuga students this year.
