At the May 27 meeting of the Cayuga County Legislature, John A. Karpinski was reappointed to the Cayuga Community College Board of Trustees for a third term. Karpinski, a founding member and partner in the general law practice of Karpinski, Stapleton, Galbato and Tehan, was first named to the board of trustees by the county legislature in 1986 to fill the unexpired term of his uncle, Dr. Joseph Karpinski. He was reappointed in 1994 and again in 2003, for a nine-year term ending in June 2012.
During his tenure on the board, Karpinski has held the positions of chair, vice chair, and secretary. He has also served on all board committees, including the 1996 presidential search committee, and currently is on the personnel committee.
Karpinski, who received his bachelor’s degree from the College of the Holy Cross and his J.D. from Boston University, is a member of the Cayuga County Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.
