Offered by the Auburn/Cayuga Community College Alumni Association, the trip is open to the public. A morning tour on the W. W. Durant will provide a narrated cruise along Raquette Lake’s “great camps,” the summer homes of turn-of-the-century tycoons. A buffet lunch on board will feature international and original cuisine.
An afternoon visit to Blue Mountain Lake will include the Adirondack Museum, called the “best of its kind in the world” by the New York Times. In this famous open-air museum, the heritage of Adirondack boating, woodworking, crafts and occupations comes to life in the hands of expert demonstrators. The 32-acre landscaped site offers spectacular views of the surrounding lakes and mountains.
The trip’s final stop is Old Forge, with free time for travelers to shop and dine as they choose.
The deluxe motorcoach will depart from the college at 7:00 a.m. The return trip, beginning in Old Forge at 6:00 p.m., will arrive in Auburn around 8:30 p.m.
The cost of $69 per person covers round-trip motorcoach transportation, boat tour and lunch, and admission to the Adirondack Museum. Payment is due upon reservation. Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations and further information are available from the college’s Alumni Office at 315-255-1743, extension 2224 or 2454.
