Senator Clinton Honors Cayuga's Professor Brunell

DATE: 09-18-2003

Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton presented the New York State 2003 Most Outstanding Older Worker Award to Professor Robert H. Brunell, a member of the Cayuga Community College English faculty, on August 29, at the New York State Fairgrounds. Brunell was honored at the Third Annual Legislative Luncheon, hosted by Clinton at the Empire Room

The statewide award is part of the Prime Time Awards program to select the most outstanding older worker in each of the 50 states, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia. Launched in 1998 and sponsored by Experience Works (formerly Green Thumb), the yearlong program recognizes the contributions and accomplishments of senior workers and their employers.

Brunell, who this year will mark his 50th year teaching at Cayuga Community College, was nominated for the award by Mickey Lord, a Cayuga alumna and former director of alumni affairs for the college.
