Cayuga Alumni Offer December NYC Weekend Trip

DATE: 08-04-2004

The high-kicking Rockettes in holiday finery will once again highlight a winter weekend excursion to New York City, offered by the Auburn/Cayuga Community College Alumni Association. The trip is offered to the public.

Travelers will depart from Cayuga Community College at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, December 3. They will enjoy a two-night stay at the first-class Sheraton Suites on the Hudson, a short shuttle/ferry ride from Manhattan. Visitors will have Saturday free to wander and shop, sightsee, visit museums and landmarks, and see a matinee or evening show.

On Sunday at noon, the group will have reserved orchestra seats for the Christmas spectacular at Radio City Music Hall at Rockefeller Center. The show features the Rockettes? beloved “Parade of the Wooden Solders,” a stirring “Living Nativity,” and Santa's very own tour of Manhattan in an amazing 3-D sleigh.

Rockefeller Center is a wintertime landmark in Manhattan, with its Christmas tree aglow and skaters circling the public ice rink. Within the plaza, the early-morning Today Show crowd waves for the cameras outside NBC studios.

Following the Radio City Music Hall performance, the group will depart from Rockefeller Center at 3:00 p.m.

The per-person excursion cost is $399 for double, $347 for triple, $323 for quad, and $581 for single occupancy. The tour includes round trip motorcoach transportation; hotel accommodations for two nights including all taxes and baggage handling; breakfast; and the Radio City Music Hall performance. Seating is limited, and a deposit of $150 per person is due upon reservation, with the balance due no later than November 5. For further information or reservations contact Cayuga's alumni office at 315-255-1743, extension 2224 or 2454.
