DATE: 08-29-2005

This fall, Cayuga Community College will resume offering a popular credit-free course in the Olympic sport of judo. Focusing on the traditional Japanese form called Kodokan, classes will be tailored to the individual student's interest in fitness, self-defense, competition, or fun. The 26-session course will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Spartan Hall gym from September 6 through December 8, with no class on Thanksgiving. Instructors are local black belts Peter Petrosino, Brian Christopher, and Sidney Gilmore III; Petrosino holds the fifth, or highest, black-belt degree. Course tuition is $100; uniforms will be provided for an additional fee. Students under age 16 are welcome if enrolling with a participating parent.
