Cayuga CADD Student Wins Statewide Tech Award

Gregory Sloan of Moravia, who will graduate from Cayuga Community College on May 21 with a degree in Mechanical Technology: Design and Drafting, has received the annual scholarship award from the New York State Engineering Technology Association. Sloan was honored by the 42-college association for both high academic achievement and outstanding contributions as tutor and lab assistant in Cayuga's computer-assisted design and drafting (CADD) program. Sloan, who served as 2005?6 president of Cayuga's Engineering and Technology Club and took part in the college's 2005 Leadership Retreat Seminar, has been on the Dean's List for the past three semesters. The day after he graduates, the single father of three will start a new job as a detailer/designer for Cryomech, Inc., in Syracuse.
