DATE: 08-27-2013

The Direct Selling Education Foundation and the National Association of Community College Entrepreneurship have teamed up with Cayuga Community College to develop and offer the Direct Selling Entrepreneurship training program. Cayuga will offer this program starting on September 8 at the Auburn Campus. Registration for the program is now open at in Community Education, Business & Entrepreneurship section.

The Direct Selling Entrepreneur Program breaks the world of direct selling wide open to participants with this 30-hour, non-credit course designed to provide direct sellers with the small business management and entrepreneurial skills that will allow them to run more successful direct selling businesses. No matter one’s level of experience in direct selling, the Direct Selling Entrepreneur Program provides a new path forward for people seeking success as independent entrepreneurs selling the world’s most recognizable brands.

Divided into 10 modules, the Direct Selling Entrepreneur Program introduces the fundamental components of small business management, including marketing, finance, legal issues, planning, and skills important to the success of a direct selling small business. In addition, course participants gain deep understanding of the wide variety of direct selling business strategies, including individual sales efforts, party plan and network marketing scenarios, online sales, and salesforce recruitment and training.

The first 15 women to sign up get $125 off of the $175 tuition, thanks to a grant from Women’s Fund of Central NY (making the tuition only $50 for the 30-hour course). In order to get the discounted rate, students must call 315-294-8841 to register.
