NEW YORK STATE EDUCATION HIGH SCHOOL EQUIVALENCY (HSE) DIPLOMA
NYSED supports four different pathways to an HSE diploma. Taking the HSE exam is only one of those four options:
- Take and pass the five subtests of the High School Equivalency exam
- Working in the National External Diploma Program (a competency-based option that does not include the exam)
- Regents HSE Exam (using passing Regents credits toward a diploma)
- 24 College Credits
The New York State Education Department website provides detailed information about each of the four pathways.
