CIRCULATION POLICIES

All current students, faculty, administrators, and staff of Cayuga Community College, as well as alumni and residents of Cayuga and Oswego counties who are 18 years of age and older, may borrow materials from the Library. Students and faculty enrolled in or teaching classes at Empire State College on the Auburn campus, students and faculty of Wells College, and students enrolled at other SUNY colleges – all are eligible to apply for a Library card and to borrow materials. Patrons must present a current library card to borrow materials.

LIBRARY ACCOUNTS

To apply for a library account, Cayuga students should present a current Cayuga-issued student ID with photo in order to activate their account. The student ID will then be used as Library Card. Students enrolled in Empire State College, Wells College, and other SUNY colleges must present a valid student ID with photo from their home institutions in order to be issued a Cayuga Library Card. Faculty from these institutions must present proof of current affiliation.

All patrons other than students and staff of Cayuga Community College must present proof of current address and a photo ID.

A library account can remain in use for an indefinite period and must be renewed annually. Lost cards should be reported at the Library Circulation Desk as soon as possible. A charge is made for the replacement of lost library cards.

Because library patrons are responsible for all library materials charged against their library account, they should not lend their privileges to others.

FEES AND CHARGES

FINES

The Library charges fines for items returned past their due dates. Fines for circulating items (for example, books, DVDs, CDs, and audiobooks) are charged at ten cents per day per item, for each day that the Library is open past the date that the item was due. If an item is returned within a two-day grace period after a due date, no fines will be charged. Fines for Interlibrary Loan items are calculated at $1.00 per day. Employees of Cayuga Community College do not incur fines.

Fines for items in the Library Reserve Collection are calculated at $.50 per hour.
