EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY PROGRAM (EOP)

OUR MISSION
Cayuga Community College’s Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) provides access, academic support, and financial assistance to first-time, full-time students who demonstrate the potential to earn a college degree but who may need additional support during the academic experience at Cayuga. The program is holistically designed to strengthen students’ personal development and assist in acquiring the academic skills needed to successfully transition to the College’s social and cultural environment. Students enrolled in EOP receive additional services to support their success, such as:
- Pre-freshman Summer Institute
- One-to-one personal and academic coaching/counseling
- Application Fee Waiver(s)
- Transfer Admission
- Free individual tutorial assistance
- Opportunities for career and leadership development
- Workshops to help ensure success
Once students are conditionally* accepted into Cayuga Community College and EOP, they are expected to attend the Pre-Freshman Summer Institute. Students participate in skill-building workshops, academic seminars, tutorial services, academic and personal counseling, and also receive books. The program runs for four weeks, Monday–Thursday.
* Students who are accepted into the EOP program are expected to meet all program requirements. Failure to do so can lead to removal from the program.
