FEDERAL WORK-STUDY FOR EOP

Federal Work-Study provides part-time employment while the student is enrolled in school to help pay their education expenses. Students must seek out and apply for work-study jobs at their school. The program encourages community service work and work related to the student’s course of study.

HOW WORK-STUDY IS AWARDED

Work-Study is awarded on a first-come, first served basis, so it is important to complete the FAFSA each year as early as possible. Students must select on the FAFSA that they would like to be considered for work-study.

Students must have sufficient financial need after all other grants, scholarships, and Direct Subsidized loans have been offered to them. Students living on campus will also be offered a Direct Unsubsidized loan before work-study is offered to them.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

• Must have a valid FAFSA on file
• Must have a financial need, as demonstrated by the FAFSA
• Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen
• Accepted as a regular student working towards a degree or eligible certificate program
• Attending at least half-time (6 credit hours)
• Maintain satisfactory progress towards the completion of their program
• Cannot be in default on any other federal loans
• Cannot owe a refund on a federal student grant or loan
