COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course introduces students to event management in the field of convention and meetings from preplanning through post-event evaluation. Areas of study will include: site selection and negotiations, program development, banquet food service, function room set-up, support services, impact of IT, international considerations and current trends. This course will serve as an elective for any business student and is a required course for the Event Management Certificate program. The class will target students interested in obtaining skills in convention and meeting management area.
