COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course is designed to present the scientific, institutional, historical, and contemporary contexts of perpetuated biases against vulnerable populations within STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics). The purpose of this course is to acquaint STEM students with issues of diversity, equality, social justice, and inclusion, identify actionable items to address social justice issues, and to fulfill their current educational and future goals. In this course, mutual respect and sensitivity are essential to creating a learning environment conducive to open dialogue.
