COURSE DESCRIPTION
THIS IS A HYBRID COURSE: A hybrid course is where some traditional face-to-face "seat time" has been replaced by online learning activities. The purpose of a hybrid course is to take advantage of the best features of both face-to-face and online learning.
Prerequisite: high school biology, BIOL 100, 101, 103 or equivalent. Balanced introduction to basic microbiology (biochemistry, taxonomy, genetics, and cell biology), clinical microbiology (pathogenic bacteriology); and applied microbiology (food and industrial microbiology and ecological microbiology).
