COURSE DESCRIPTION
THIS IS A HYBRID COURSE: A hybrid course is where some traditional face-to-face "seat time" has been replaced by online learning activities. The purpose of a hybrid course is to take advantage of the best features of both face-to-face and online learning.
Introductory course presents basic GIS theories and concepts. Fundamentals explored include a brief introduction to basic cartographic principles, data types, map scales, coordinate systems and projections. Hands-on training includes manipulating, analyzing, and creating maps using an industry-standard GIS system.
