COURSE DESCRIPTION
Prerequisite or Corequisite of ECH 110. Recommended background: PSY 215 . Students will study the history and development of Early Childhood Education. Students will study diversity, equity, inclusion and social justice from a historical and current perspective in the context of social structure and systems in an effort to develop skills that promote rights, access and equity in Early Childhood Education. The needs of children (birth through 8 years) will be studied for the purpose of applying the principles of growth and development to the use of appropriate materials and activities. The development of skills to work with children, families and the community will be emphasized.
