Custodian (FT)

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

DEPARTMENT:         Maintenance

Reports to: Director of Facilities

APPOINTMENT:       Full Time

LOCATION: Auburn Campus

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Performs routine building cleaning and occasional minor maintenance tasks.
  • Sweeps, vacuums, mops, and performs other floor maintenance, wash walls, windows and blackboards.
  • Cleans lavatories and locker rooms, replaces soap and towels.
  • Makes minor repairs to furniture, electrical fixtures, windows and window shades, locks, faucets, heating system and other equipment.
  • Empties waste baskets, collects and disposes of rubbish and recyclable trash.
  • May mow lawns, trim shrubs, rake leaves, remove snow and ice from walks and driveways and other grounds keeping tasks as assigned.
  • May operate a vehicle to transport supplies, equipment, mail, or rubbish.
  • Receives, moves, and stores incoming supplies.
  • Lifts and sets up chairs, tables, and other equipment as needed.
  • Performs a variety of errands and related custodial tasks as assigned by the Director of Capital Projects and Facilities and/or the Administrative Assistant to the Director of Capital Projects and Facilities.
  • Other custodial duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

One (1) year of experience in building cleaning and minor maintenance activities.

COMPENSATION:

$43,379 w/ excellent benefits and leave time.
