This pathway is for students who are passionate about a career in the fields of Electrical Technology and Advanced Manufacturing.
Students learn the hands-on, technical, and problem-solving skills to design and create the products that supply our world.
In this field you can:
- Maintain and repair industrial equipment and electrical systems
- Assemble, test and modify electronic equipment
- Create and interpret schematic drawings
- Design new ways to improve electronic components and instrumentation
HIGH SCHOOL
Focus on developing your critical thinking, communication, computer and machining skills to prepare you for college courses.
Careers in electrical technology and advanced manufacturing require clear and concise communication, the ability to troubleshoot under a deadline, learning new tools and processes, and adapting to a precise and efficient workflow.
People who work in Electrical Technology need to:
- Develop strong listening and communication skills
- Demonstrate a knowledge of basic algebra and trigonometry to meet degree requirements
- Enjoy working with their hands
- Develop strong critical thinking, computer and communication skills
ENGLISH
- 3-year high school English course average of 80 or higher
MATH
- Algebra I final course grade of 90 OR aim to complete Algebra II final course grade of 70 or higher (includes average of Algebra IIa & Algebra IIb)
