This pathway is for students who are passionate about a career in the field of human services or want to transfer after graduating. Students learn the knowledge, techniques, and ethics of the helping professions, and gain valuable experience through internships at local service agencies.

HIGH SCHOOL
Focus on developing strong writing skills and learn basic algebra.
Communication skills are essential for Human Services careers. To enhance these skills, develop your writing ability and improve your knowledge of basic algebra in high school.
People who work in Human Services need to:
- Develop strong listening and communication skills
- Demonstrate a knowledge of basic algebra to meet degree requirements

- 3-year high school English course average of 80 or higher
MATH
- Algebra I final course grade of 90 OR aim to complete Algebra II final course grade of 70 or higher (includes average of Algebra IIa & Algebra IIb)

The Human Service Studies Program offers transfer students a cutting-edge program of study. Career opportunities abound in the field of human services. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, one of the most significant areas of employment growth in the next decade or so will be in human service occupations.
This degree program combines a broad liberal education in the social and behavioral sciences that builds upon prior professional educational experiences and prepares you for employment in human services or graduate study in related fields.

There is a wide range of human service organizations that focus on areas such as employment, food and nutrition, health and wellness, youth development, and foster care and adoption.
ESC faculty have extensive field experience ranging from direct service to program evaluation. They continuously work to develop initiatives and programs that are current in the field, such as our B.S. in addiction studies.
A degree in Community and Human Services expands your understanding of human needs, values, and social conditions and helps you develop the expertise to build and maintain healthy individuals and communities.
