WHAT IF I HAVE A TRACFONE?

Before attempting to send an email to a TracFone user, you should first know that TracFone does not own its own service network. Its customers are serviced by using existing networks belonging to service providers such as AT&T, Verizon and the like. Therefore, when attempting to send an email to a TracFone customer, you must first find out which network services the TracFone recipient.

Every network has its own SMS compatible address to tack on the end of the email recipient’s phone number. For example, Verizon SMS-compatible address is @vtext.com where as Nextel’s is @messaging.nextel.com.

LOCATING THE NETWORK SERVICE PROVIDER

There are free services on the Internet that takes the guesswork out of locating the TracFone network provider. Websites such as FoneFinder.net and Telcodata will provide the information for you free of charge. All you need to do is go to their website, insert the TracFone phone number that you wish to send an e-mail message to and the website will tell you which network services the TracFone customer.

ANOTHER EASY WAY TO FIND YOUR PROVIDER

If you have a TracFone, you first need to find out your TracFone’s email address. Try sending an email to the following addresses, one at a time, replacing the “xxxxxxxxxx” with YOUR phone number.

Wait a minute or so for a message on to appear on your TracFone. If you receive it, send a reply. If you do not receive a message, try the next address in the list.

When you receive the reply at the email address you sent the original message to, you know your provider and your email format! You can then choose from the cell provider list under the Notification Alert Location setup.
